Did you know...As previously explained, Man is the key to the development of a terroir. But what is a "terroir"? The viticultural term "terroir" is uniquely French and impossible to translate into a single English word. It is the result of a complex alchemy arriving from the interplay of soil, climate, grape variety and the winemaker's art. It's important to note that light-colored soils such as kimmeridgian marl (limestone-clay) provide the best support for white grape varieties and to know that Sauvignon Blanc is perfectly suited to this type of terrain. The personality of our wines (aroma, bouquet) is directly tied to our terroir while the quality is brought to the forefront according to the climatic conditions of a particular vintage year, the grape variety, and our own "savoir-faire". |
